NermalNeeds a sponsor Click here to sponsor-a-pet application

Nermal's story starts sad but doesnt end that way. He was found as a stray, his caulifower ears show the hardship he must have endured, that condition is caused by either trauma or untreated infection. Someone took him in but then found out he was FIV+ and the vet scared them so much regarding this, they called AC and had him picked up. This is especially sad because FIV is TRULY NOT something to be frightened of, here is an educational video regarding FIV click this link Back to Nermal....when we found out he had FIV and had to picked up by AC, we knew it was a death sentence so we rushed to save his life. Wise old soul is what people think when they meet him. We dont know if this boy is young or old, but we all feel he has an "old wise" soul from what his eyes show. He is super with other cats and just lives to be next to people. He will patiently watch the doors to his room to catch a glimpse of a person to beg them to come and sit with him. His amazing cat will steal your heart, would you give him the chance he deserves? Nermal, boy

Smokey V

Meet Smokey V, he is not sleeping, he has no eyes. This handsome fella is approximately 15 years old, he could be older. Two days after Christmas in 2007, his owner passed away, leaving Smokey V and others in our care. Smokey being a senior and a bit of a grump with other cats held him back from finding a new family. In the meantime, his eyes deteriorated and he developed glacoma. This happened over a year's time, so he lost one eye at a time. He was already blind in them, but glacoma is very painful, we we had to have his eyes removed to relieve the pain. This is a gentle old soul. Its absolutely amazing to watchin him manuever around. Animals just figure it out, they dont feel sorry for themselves, they are so amazing! Consider sponsoring Smokey V, he's worth it!

Pammy

Needs a sponsor Click here to sponsor-a-pet application

We are not sure what happened to this little angel, but she ended up in a high kill shelter with a ruptured eyeball. We rescued her from that shelter and took her immediately to the vet to have the eye removed. She was blind in that eye anyway, so she wasnt losing sight, just pain for the horrid eyeball. She is such a dear kitten, she has captured the heart of everyone she has crossed paths with, even the "stronger" ones in animal sheltering. Her fur is just like a rabbit's fur. She begins purring even if you just look at her. She is so happy to have that eye removed, you can just feel her relief. This precious baby needs a home where she will be loved and kept indoor only to make sure she is safe with having only one eye. Have you ever wanted to make a big difference in an animal's life along with sharing your family with a special rescue, here's your chance, she is waiting for you. Pammy has tested FeLV+ Pammy, girl, born approx 6/11

This little baby girl was pulled from a high kill shelter where she had gotten horribly sick. One of our amazing foster families took her in and got her all better. Then the other shoe fell and we found out that she has Feline Leukemia. Darn, some animals just cant get a break! She still would like to have a family of her own and deserves it. We cant predict how long any animal will live, her life will be shorter then the average lifespan of a cat but there has to be someone out there that will give her a family for as long as she lives, could it be you? Vivica, girl, born approx 9/10

Desiree

Needs a sponsor Click here to sponsor-a-pet application

Desiree came in as a stray to a local high kill shelter. She would not be allowed to be adopted out because of the condition of her eyes. So, we rescued her, got her the surgery she needed to relieve the pain and now she is pain free. People ask us all the time if she is blind, which makes us chuckle because she has no eyes, so, of course, she is blind. Its just hard to believe because she gets around so well! Desiree, girl, born approximately 2006

Aurora

This little darlin' has a background that we will never know. She ended up being given up by her family to a high kill shelter, they didnt disclose that this girl had lost 2/3rd of her tongue, so that shelter has no idea what happened to her. She loves people and is great with other cats, she does need help with grooming herself, well, of course, not yourself but she needs a bath a couple times a week. Bless her heart, the food falls out of our mouth as she tries eating. She requires canned food a couple times a day. If you are unable to adopt this doll, would you consider sponsoring her? WoobleADopte

Not available for adoption but really needs a sponsor Click here to sponsor-a-pet application

Wooble has cerebellar hypoplasia he was born with it in 2006. At first the vets thought he wouldn't survive becaue he tremored so much when focusing they believed he wouldn't be able to get enough nutrition. He fooled them when he was found to be gaining more weight then even his sister! Wooble went out on 2 different adoptions, he was returned both times for different reasons. We dont want to put Wooble through that again, thinking he has a home and finding out he doesn't, so he will spend his life in our care. We realize it's hard not to feel bad for him as he tumbles over trying to get across the area, but he truly doesn't know any different, he thinks everyone is like him. See a video here and here of Wooble. He enjoys life, he loves affection, he enjoys being alive. Wooble, boy, born 2006

Saeed

Needs a sponsor Click here to sponsor-a-pet application

Saeed was dealt a tough hand, he has tested positive for Feline Leukemia, it almost got him the death sentence at an area shelter, but we were able to step in and save him and his siblings and mother. He is so adorable, a lilac pointed Siamese. All sorts of full of himself and so entertaining. HELP is a true no kill animal shelter so he will never be killed at our shelter, but he deserves his own family. HELP will cover all his medical expenses if you will give him a family. Saeed, boy, born approximately 5/10

Atlas is an adorable gentlemen who is so non intrusive, he just sits quietly and patiently for you to give him affection. He totally loves it, you can tell, but he still just sits quietly and pushes into your hand. We dont think he's had too good of a life, just something in his demeanor that says that he is waiting for the other shoe to fall :( We would love to find this handsome boy a home where he can unpack his baggage and move away from the life he had before. GB

GB (the black w/white chest) is such a survivor! You cant see real well but his ears are all folded down from frostbite. GB was trapped in a citizen's backyard and brought into a vet clinic to be neutered. After testing, they found out he was positive for FIV and the clinic did not want to release him. The rescuer called us to take him into our program, although at that time, we thought he was feral. Either way, he shouldn't be killed. After only a couple months in our shelter, we found out this boy is anything but feral. He was apparently abandoned and was simply frightened of people. However, after a little reassurance, he remembered he did love people! He loves affection and will "grab" your hand if you stop petting him. The white boy with him is Jordan, he is also FIV+. Lady M

Needs a sponsor Click here to sponsor-a-pet application

This gorgeous Persian girl hit a big bump in her journey of life, she somehow contracted Feline Leukemia. Feline Leukemia is terminal but some cats can live to be 8 or 9, we have even heard of older ones. We know her face looks angry, but she is so far from that, she is such a little lady, very petite under all that hair. She would need to go to a home with no other cats or other cats positive for FeLV. We still believe she needs her own family and shouldnt be put to death! Every life is precious and Lady Marmalade is hapy that we feel that way and is going to think positive that she will get the chance she deserves! Lady Marmalade, Persian, girl, born 2006.

This is such a sweet guy, he showed up at a volunteers home looking sadly through the door for a bit of food. He scarfed it down like he hadnt been fed in quite some time. After showing up a couple times this way, the volunteer took him in to get neutered and vaccinated. We then found out that he has the Feline Leukemia virus. He is now living at the shelter and hoping for the special family he deserves. Lavry, boy, born approx 2005. Handsome is just that! What a gorgeous Russian Blue this boy is! Someone moved out of their home and just left him to try and survive. The neighbors fed him and took care of him as best they could until someone finally decided to get him neutered. It was then that they found out that he had Feline Leukemia. He doesnt get along with other cats and can be very aggressive, but what a love bug he is for people affection! Of course, he wont get to live a long life but what a difference you could make in the life of a kitty that wont get to live a long time! Handsome, boy, born approximately 2004 or 2005, Russian Blue. Blond boy is desperate for affection, he simply cannot get enough. He will grab your hand if you stop petting him and draw it back to him. He gets along with most other cats, but it seems that if another cat provokes him, he gets upset and goes into a fighting mode. He was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia about 3 yrs ago but is still healthy as a horse, FeLV+ cats just need to be monitored for any health concerns. Of course, he wont get to live a long life but what a difference you could make in the life of a kitty that wont get to live a long time! Blond Boy, boy, born approximately 2002 or 2003. Yeah, I gave 'em hell, sure did, but I got it back too! So, if Gibson's face looks funny, it's because of the wounds he suffered in a fight before he was rescued and sent to a local veterinarian. They fixed up his wounds (and pride) and now he is neutered and ready to go to his new home. He is a flame point Himilayan mix. He is very animated and affection. He adores people, he cries for attention, oh and he will tell you if his box needs scooping.....he doesnt like that stuff sitting around, yuk! Click here to watch in informative video on FIV. Jax

Check out a video of this sweet boy here Dear sweet soul Jackson, anyone who meets him falls in love with him. Jackson was taken from a hoarder. A hoarder is one that has many, many cats and cannot provide proper care for them. That is how Jackson lost his eye. It was so diseased and causing him so much pain that we have the veterinarian remove it. That changed him from a timid boy to one who seeks affection, ALOT! Jackson does have a sinus issue and unfortunately makes him go into sneezing fits and snot goes flying......honestly, its not pretty but we know he just cant help it. Jackson, affectionately known as One-Eyed Jack, boy, born approx 2001.

Alamo is a real love bug! He is a tad bit battle scarred but not a lot. He is happy to be inside and warm and snuggly but he is missing one thing, his person's lap! Please give him the chance at a family that he deserves, he wont ask for much! Alamo does have FIV but that just means he needs to be an indoor only cat (and they all should be) and that he might not fight off a cold as easily as a cat without FIV, but antibiotics helps! Look at that FACE! How could you resist such a sweet plea!!? Ellis is a young Snoeshow boy that has a gentle spirit. He honestly lives to be loved. He loves to get as CLOSE as possible to his person. That includes your face, so if you like a kitty that you can REALLY snuggle with, Ellis is a good choice. When he knows I am about to sit down, we have a race to the chair because he just cant wait to get on a lap. He has been through tough times, we know this because of the condition he was rescued in. He has deep blue eyes that he holds looking down. Ellis does have FIV but thats not a death sentence for an indoor kitty. They can live just as long as those that dont have it. He just needs a chance, can you give him one?
