"Shelter
Buddy" Program
“Our clients are homeless animals…….we hope to be out of business someday” Most
people
have no idea how much money it takes to run an animal shelter. At our shelter, the food bill alone is
$1000.00 a month. The electric bill is
$500-600 a month in the WINTER. In the
summer, with air conditioning needed, it goes well over $1000.00 a
month. Then there is the gas, phone, water
and trash
service. Our veterinary bill is between
$1200-1500 a month and that is if no one needs emergency care and that
rarely
happens. There are employees to pay that
care for the animals while waiting for homes.
The animal shelter is a 24/7 operation, no holidays or
weekends
are
taken. The medications including flea
treatments and deworming supplies run several hundred dollars a month. We do 18-20 loads of laundry a DAY to keep
the animals healthy and in a clean environment.
Sheltering homeless animals has to be done right, which
means
every
animal needs to receive the care they need to be comfortable until
their family
comes. HELP Humane Society prides
ourselves in taking exemplary care of the animals in our charge. Our shelter is a no kill cageless facility
and we need your help. Our goal is to
have 1500 people to donate $10-20 (or more) a month by automatic funds
transfer, this will just cover our basic expenses.
This is a tax deductible donation as we are a
501(c)(3) non profit organization. We do
not receive any city, state or federal government monies, we survive on
individual donations alone. Please
consider being a shelter buddy, just think what your donation combined
with
others can do….. These homeless animals
did not ask to be in the situation they are in; it is our
responsibility to
care for them. We are happy to help
these helpless animals but we have GOT to have YOUR help.
