Scrappy is one of those cats that just seems to touch everyone that crosses his path, he's a "one in a million" type cat. He showed up outside the shelter scrapping for some food and we noticed he was limping badly but wouldnt let us get near him. The following night, we got him some good canned food and he couldnt resist getting caught. Although now we think it might have been an excuse to get caught because this guy is loving the "people" who visit. He talks away to get their attention, then come the head bonks and rolling over belly up for affection. He has a cute little round face with puffy jaws that just endear people to him. By the way, we never could find anything wrong with his leg, hmmmmm, did we rescue him or he rescue us? Scrappy, boy, born approx 2011

Whoa, this girl is stunning, isnt she? Her and a kitty friend were found wandering the streets in a very unsafe (for cats) small town. A Good Samaritan rescued the two and keep them safe until we could get them into the shelter. Zudora has gorgeous blue eyes, now most cats that are white with blue eyes are deaf, Zudora is not. Good thing for that since she was traveling the streets. She likes to talk quite a bit and will do tricks like tucking her head for a somersault to get you to give up some cheek scritches. If you think you are worthy of such a stunning girl, please come and give her a safe loving home where she will be appreciated for her inside beauty as well as her outside :-) Zudora, girl, born approx 2009

Tula Rose is such an adorable girl, her coat is so soft and her little face is a bit smooshed, like maybe some Persian mixed in. She is struggling here at the shelter, not sure after traveling back roads with a friend, she is surrounded by people she doesnt know and lots of other homeless cats. She is a bit timid so her family needs to have a realtively quiet lifestyle or she probably would be hiding all the time. She loves to be stroked and will lean in with her head to give you head bonks (you know you are special then!) This lucious little girl is hoping her family comes soon and she can go home and have a very special snuggle bunny. Tula Rose, girl, born approx 2011

Payton was adopted out as a young kitten and returned to us saying that she had become frightened and was only moving in the outside parameters of their room. We are not sure what happened to her but we can tell you that she appears to be frightened when she hears men's voices. She is so endearing and affectionate when you approach her, she obviously loves affection but needs some reassurance from something that has happened to her. She gets along with other cats and at her former home, her best friend was a dog. Can you give her a family where she doesn't have to be afraid? She really needs a friend right now, could it be you? Neela was found wandering the streets and a kind person starting feeding her, after a couple months of doing that, the feeder suddenly realized that Neela had no front claws! She contacted some places for help for Neela and we happened to have a place open, so she brought her into us. Neela is confused, its obvious, she is not sure why she is in a shelter living with a bunch of other cats and strangers, what had become of her family? We promised her that we would find her another family where she could live with maybe one or two other cats but she really isnt fond of living with so many other cats right now. She is very quiet and unassuming, just likes to hang out and loves canned food! Can you give this girl some love and security? She would return your love and be a great companion! Isn't this little girl a doll? She is super cute and just loves affection. She was dumped like trash at the shelter saying she was not good with other cats but we are not really finding that here. She is pretty laid back, not really rattled by much. She talks quietly and purrs like an engine. She is probably not even a year old yet but very mellow. This little girl (she is very petite would really like a family to hang with, she really like to give and get attention. Petula, girl, born approx 2011

Isis is a senior girl that is just ate up with gorgeous. We dont understand why someone would dump her in a carrier outside the shelter. She is still quite upset about the whole thing and is confused as to why she has ended up in a shelter during her senior years, hardly seems fair does it. Well, you could change that, she needs someone to give her security and love through her senior years and in exchange she will give you quiet companionship. Even when she talks with you, its very soft. She was examined by our vet and bloodwork was done and she appears to be in very good health. Want to make a difference in the life of a deserving animal, well, you couldn't make a bigger one then with this senior doll. Isis, girl, born approx 2002

Precious little Khloe was either dumped outside or lost her way home. We weill never know her story but this little darling was outside the shelter crying the most pitiful of cries for several weeks. We all tried to rescue her but she was just too frightened. We finally were able to trap her and bring her inside. Basically she just melted into us when it happened. She had been so afraid and when we rescued her, she was just the most precious grateful kitty ever. She has the sweetest little voice that sort of chirps and she loves to talk with everyone. All you have to do is look her way and she begins to paw paw and purr. She is so happy to be safe indoors, we need someone to keep her safe and loved for the rest of her life, she couldn't take another heartbreak, could you give her security? Angelina was born with siblings in an area that was clearly not safe for animals but when a poor mama is on her own and trying to care for a family, she has to do the best she can. Angelina had seizures from chemicals in the ground where she was born. She was on phenabarb until she was about 1 year old, she was then slowly taken off of it by October 2011. Since that time, she has had only 2 seizures and the vet says unless they have more then a few a month, they do not put them on phenabarb. We know she deserves her own family and a family deserves to have such an amazing kitty. She is full of purrsonality and love for everyone. She gets along great with all cats and she LOVES dogs, we keep telling her that we are going to find her a family where she can have her own dog. Wouldn't you give this girl a chance, you wont be able to not love her, she's way too easy to love! Angelina, girl, born 6/10

Oh boy, this is a lion in a cat's body. Not only does he look like one, he has the spirit on a true lion. He does everything in life with zest! He plays and loves hard! This boy is the type of kitty that you KNOW is around, no hiding for him. He loves to be a part of all things busy, extremely entertaining and a love of life that we all wish we had. He was adopted out to a home and allowed outdoors where he was almost killed by a car, that owner did not want to save him, so we were lucky enough to be able to save his life and give him another chance at a family that will appreciate his liveliness! Is that you? Nolan, boy, born approx 2009

This adorable face belongs to a boy that after 13 years living with the same person found himself in a shelter with his companion Belle and no home. He has a worry in his eyes that we wish we could take away. We offer him and Belle assurance and love every day but he just wants things to be back as they were. He is very quiet, unassuming and doesn't push for affection, however, when it is given to him, he soaks it up. Both he and Belle could still have many more years, no one knows, we do know that they both deserve to spend their senior years surrounded by the love and security of a family, dont you agree? Bea is a super darling girl, she spent one of her lives recently and we so wish we knew her story. But whatever the story, we are so happy to have been able to give this charmer her second chance at life. She was found by a Good Samaritan and brought into a vet clinic, they had found her in a ditch. She weighed only 4 lbs and had some neuro issues but the clinic wanted to give her a chance at recovering, so did we! She is now over 10 lbs! She still has some neuro issues with balance sometimes, but dont we all sometimes. She would love to have a family of her own where she wouldnt have to fret about living with so many other cats at the shelter. Bea really wants her own family, would you give her the security she needs? Bea, girl, born approx 2008, front declawed

Belle - This little sweetheart of a girl finds herself in a homeless animal shelter after spending 13 years with her person and her companion Oskar. She is very talkative and the spokespurson for both of them, but even with that said, she talks softly and greets you with purrs and winding around your legs sharing her love. She needs to be brushed weekly to take care of her long locks and keep them from being matted, but if you have ever brushed a cat that enjoys it, you know how enjoying it can be for the person also. Oskar and Belle realize that most people wont want to adopt senior cats but both are keeping the faith (as we are) that someone will give them the love and security they need....and want, maybe its you? This handsome gentle giant was stamped with his "expiration date" at a kill shelter, luckily we had the room to rescue him before that date. Although this boy's coat shows some of the trials and tribulations he must have been through, its improving daily with good nutrition and TLC. He is such a gentle giant, doesn't bowl you over with his need for affection, he is very kind and gentle in asking for it. He gets along great with other cats, never causes a stink, he pretty much just lets everything roll off of him and moves on. When dogs come through his area, he is cautious but would coexist with a cat friendly dog for sure. This boy would make a great companion for someone who would like to adopt an "easy cat", give this gentle giant a chance, you will be glad you did! Jersey Boy, boy, born approx 2007

Is this little cutie pie adorable or what? She has the most amazing markings, just like the colors of a Marigold! She is very comfortable in her surroundings, loves interactive play and doesn't play hard. She would love to find a home where she would be loved for the amazing girl she is! This is an amazing cat, he has loads of purrsonality. He is your sort of laid back sort of dude, he never starts trouble with any of the other cats and if one of the others starts trouble with him, he makes a lot of noise but then just moves elsewhere. He has the sweetest little face, with his floppy ear (caused by an untreated infection in that ear) and his adorable little mouth has a poofy chin, just makes him such an adorable handsome boy. Burley was found on the streets searching for food, he had no front claws trying to scrap around, poor fella! This boy was rescued from a trailer park when his family left him behind. It took us a while to rescue him because he was so scared from people running him off. He is still a bit "reserved" at first but that is to be expected considering what he has been through. He is such an amazing color of Siamese, almost like pink points, maybe a Lilac mix? He had a pretty rough mouth but has had that all fixed up but he still is "uncomfortable" with eating dry kibble, so he would still need to be with someone that would be willing to give him canned food daily. He gets along fantastic with other cats, never causes any trouble, is always willing to let the other kitty have his/er way. Can you help this boy live a more comfortable life for the rest of his life? Siam, boy, born approx 2004

Ivy was adopted out and then returned to us because she didnt like the new dog :-( She is super sensitive, we really need her to find her forever home this time around. Is this girl gorgeous or what? Her stunning green eyes are amazing! She was rescued right before giving birth to 4 kittens, who have all found homes, now isnt it time for this great mom to have her home? She is a tad bit shy at first but she is overcoming that with all the visitors at the shelter. Check out a video of this precious duo here Maya and Angelo were rescued as young kittens and were really timid. They were adopted out and returned after 5 years. They were really tramatized when they were returned because of their timidness. They are terrified of kids, which is why they were returned because the family ended up having kids. Once these adorable babies get a bit to trust, wow, they are both such super love bugs! They do not need to go to a home together because Maya actually wants all attention and affection and Angelo allows her to boss him around. Elizabeth was born in a feral cat colony and trapped to be spayed, we thought she was a kitten, but she was an adult that was very small. We decided to take her into the shelter instead of releasing her because of that. She has since decided that 2 leggeds are not bad and she truly loves affection. Maizie came in under one of the strangest circumstances we have encountered. Her "owner" wanted to get her spayed, so we helped with that, then a week after she had been spayed and returned, the owner came in saying we gave her back the wrong cat (impossible!!!) and the poor kitty had a wound on her side that wasnt there a week before. Anyway, we felt so bad for this gentle souled cat, we just squeezed her in the shelter. She is extremely sweet and appears to be great with other cats. We want to find her a loving family and get her what she deserves, such a love! Maizie, girl, born approx 2010

Check out a video of this little prince here Chance came to us barely alive, he was just a skeleton with fur. You could see in his eyes that he had given up. We believe that he was just a short time from death. He didnt really have the strength to eat dry food and barely nibble on canned. So we hand fed him until he began to eat on his own and each day we watched him get stronger and stronger and the will to live return. He is wonderfully affectionate when he learns to trust a person; when the shelter closes at night and things are quiet, he will approach whoever is still hanging around and climb right into the first available lap; he is unbelievably sweet, and he's never aggressive with the other cats. Chance, boy, born approx 08/08. We hope you will give him a "chance". Chance, boy, born approx 08/08.

Can you guess that this boy got his name because he has 7 (siete in spanish) toes on each foot? Did you know that is too many toes for a cat? That's because Siete is a Hemingway (named after the Poet that breed to get this breed) Polydactyl. This guy is a bit shy but he really tries to overcome it because he enjoys affection so much! His coat is like satin but it wasnt that way when we rescued him, but with a bit of good food and some TLC, this boy is extremely handsome. What to say about Amanda......we believe that Amanda has basically been to hell and back. She was obviously abused and/or tormented. She is constantly trying to defend herself and protect her "stuff". When she calms down, she loves affection but is constantly scared that you will begin tormenting her if she lets her guard down, so she doesn't. Amanda came to us with a bad open wound around her rear end and lashing out in terror. The volunteers just love her and are determined to make sure that she gets the patience and tolerance that she needs why we help her to work through her past. She needs a special person/family (no children) that will continue to help her. We realize that this type of spcial person may not exist outside of the shelter, but we are hoping, for her sake, we are hoping......Amanda, girl, born 2004 or 05

Maggie Magpie was adopted out from us in 2002 as a kitten, she was returned to us recently and is now looking for a new family. Maggie is very talkative and will definitely tell you if she is not getting enough attention, she drools when she is getting attention. She lived without dogs and cats during the 8 years she was in a home, so she is very intimidated by them, so we need to find her a family where she will be the only 4 legged :-) She does give love bites so you would need to "know" cats enough to understand those. is a gorgeous
Russian Blue........ when he was a tiny baby, he had horrible bloated
stomach problems. It was determined that he had Mega Colon.
After an extensive surgery to fix it, he actually had problems with the

know a long term prognosis on a cat this young with this type of

We got him fixed up and he is now ready for adoption, although, he has not had time yet to look as gorgeous as we know he will be. Hi, I am Violet…you know like the flower. I tolerate canines, humans and love moonlit nights with bugs near the window. I am funny, energetic and very outgoing. I love to lie in awkward positions, especially on my back and in what many humans call a spread eagle position. In addition, I am a little on the hefty side, but I prefer the word fluffy when discussing my weight. Foster mom says she love to hold me because it is like holding a human baby. But, enough of that; I am very strong willed and do not take no for an answer. I have been known to follow my furless (human) roommates around until they produced the goods I wanted….love and affection! Therefore, this just gives you a taste of my true identity; but, I have one downfall. Like my siblings, I get a little upset when I visit the animal shelter on the weekends. This is because I see and smell other felines which make me nervous and upset. So, if you are interested, foster mom does not mind if you visit me or if I have friends over. This is so we can truly get a feel for one another and if we would be good compatible forever roomies. Violet, female, born approx 4/06.

By the way, he got his name because when his guardian rescued him, he had a zig zag open wound on his head. The veterinarian thought that he had been up under a car trying to keep warm and someone started the engine, luckily he survived. Zig Zag is a senior Manx that is not that crazy about other cats, but if they dont bug him, he is not an aggressor. She was put through our TNR (trap, neuter & return) program for feral cats.....which is why you see an eartip. While recovering from her vetting she decided that she would like to be tame and stay inside with the 2-leggeds that appeared to be taking care of her every need. So she stayed.....she is very affectionate and is awesome with other kitties.......how can you resist that?! Nikita, girl, born approx 2005

Check out a video of this princess here Such a sweet little girl this is, however, she can be a little apprehensive with people. The way to win her over is to offer people food. Poor Caviar came from a bad situation where the people didnt have enough money to care for all their cats, so the cats had to scavenge for food, we believe that they were fed leftover table scraps because she is obsessed with people food. So, if this is something that would bother you, best to not choose this girl. With understanding and reassurance, she will understand that she doesnt need to scavenge anymore.......Caviar, girl, born approx 5/06.

Check out a video of this girl here Pearlie is one exotic looking kitty....she has gorgeous markings and a wide nose and huge paws! No one thinks she is a specific breed but wow does she look exotic. She is timid at first but once she warms up, she is a real love bug. Pearlie will approach you for attention and then tilt her head down and up as she waits for you to pet her. She is kind of obssessed with water, she loves to drink the fresh water from the faucet, so you would need to be prepared for her to help you while brushing your teeth! She doesnt like to be picked up but is very affectionate and loving. She would do best with another feline friend. Pearlie, girl, born approx 5/06.

Chevy got his name because he purred like a Chevy engine. We had no idea that he was purring to calm himself as he was so terrified in the shelter. We all love him dearly and praise him for being such a brave boy. We are not sure that anyone would give Chevy a chance because of how scared he is of people, but he would make a great companion kitty for someone who is too busy to give a whole lot more to a new kitty but would like a friend for their own kitty. Chevy, boy, born approx 2004

Check out a video of this quiet little soul here Raejean is a timid girl with a ugly past. We think she deserves better, dont you? She was kept in a home with a family that refused to get veterinary care for thier animals and the cats multiplied to an huge number. When they saw that Raejean and her sister Karla were about to deliver kittens again, they dumped all 12 into our shelter. Raejean is just not sure how to trust but given quiet reassurance, she warms up. We still think she deserves to have a family that will give her that. No children under 10. Raejean, girl, born approx 2005

This buff classic tabby boy had a rough beginning. A police officer had to free him from a stack of pallets at the local Quik Trip. Dupont was NOT happy about his troubles, he was very frightened, covered in oil and just wasnt sure what would happen to him next. He did learn that the Humane Society humans and vet employees were good to him and therefore, he was no longer frightened. He got cleaned up and now he is gorgeous! Dupont is blind in one eye from a infection that he got before he was rescued. It doesnt stop him from playing an having a great time though. Dupont would need another kitty in his new family or maybe you would want to adopt 2! Dupont, boy, born approx 7/06.

Tresselle is a gorgeous Torby girl. She is full of sprit and zest for life. She is great with other cats, however, she does play rough, so she needs a kitty friend that would appreciate that and not be scared. If you try to stop petting her, she will grab your arm with her paw and give you a love bite......best way to handle that, dont stop petting her! Tresselle, girl, born approximately 2005

Sonia has not had an easy life, she was born at the Home Depot about 2 yrs ago and has been having kittens every few months since then. The employees thought they were helping by just giving away her kittens but not getting her spayed. This made a rough life for her. She is now spayed and will never have to worry about babies again. She really loves attention and food :-) She would do best in a home without children under 10 years old. She is a blue creme torti wih gorgeous copper eyes who longs to have a safe indoor forever home...... Sonia, girl, born 2003

Is he just THE most handsome boy?! Tundra is a VERY affectionate boy that would love to have a lap to lounge on. He just lives for attention from people. Although on first approach, he is sometimes apprehensive if he doesn't know you, but it only take a couple seconds for him to get over that if it means he gets some affection. Tundra is very picky about his felines friends, he gets along great with some, but not so much with others. He sometimes has a tendencies to "claim his territory" when there are lots of other cats, like the shelter. Tundra, boy, born approximately 8/05

My name is Karma and I am a female born approx 3/04. My siblings and I (see Clover/Jo/Kizmet on this page) had a real rough start in life. Our mom had us and we didnt get any attention from humans so we were scared of them. Someone got our whole family into a box, taped it shut and then dumped us behind a vet clinic. Mom and us were so terrified at the vet clinic and mom didnt make it out. Then just a short time after getting into our foster home, Kizmet and I got a horrible case of ringworm. Our sister Tao got a wonderful home and all of us want one too. We are a little shy but we warm up quickly. Foster mom calls me a spaz because I love when she comes to pet me and I love to get a good petting while I dance around. We just need a special person to give us the chance we deserve and we will reward you will love and gratitude.

Hi! I'm a single guy with an attitude and I'm looking for a like-minded room mate. I'm a very handsome boy and have a white heart in the middle of my back. I would not be a good pet for someone with small children or even middle size children as I'm a little unpredictable and when I get stressed or scared I sometimes don't behave well and might scratch or, heaven forbid, even bite one of them. I don't like other cats and would like to be an "only". When my foster mom first started taking care of me I was very scared and would scratch and try to bite her all the time....that was quite a while ago and I'm doing great now. When she pats her check I jump up to be held and cuddled. She also feeds me yum-yums's (treats) that I take from her hand like a gentleman. I like it best when she holds me and carries me around although sitting on laps is ok too. I don't come up to the adoption center to visit as all those cats really stresses me out. Are you the right person for a special boy like me?
