Ever had an Aby before? Well, if not, you are missing out! Abys are crazy little busy kitties that are so entertaining! Franklin is no different although not a purebred, but wow, he looks like one! He is so fun and active but also very good at entertaining hiself! Franklin went out on adoption but was picked up by Animal Control, luckily he is microchipped so the owner was called but didnt want to get him back. So, he came back to us looking again for his family. This guy is so fun and is awesome with other cats and loves dogs! He hopes to find his furever family this time! Franklin, boy, born approx 7/09

Paddington used to have 4 legs, now he only has 3, however, he is really ok with that, he gets around great! When he was brought into the veterinary clinic, he had an injury to his leg, one that couldnt be repaired. He is very affectionate and loving. He appears to get along well with other cats. Paddington is very grateful for the family that rescued him and sponsored him so that all his vet bills were covered. He is a great boy, we are glad he is safe now! Paddington, boy, born approx 2009

Miss Charlotte's story starts on a disturbing note. We witnessed her "owners" dumping her outside in the middle of night. She was scared and ran off, but 2 days later she showed up in the parking lot of the shelter at our feral feeding station. This girl is a dreamboat of a cat, she is really good with other cats, likes dogs and loves to talk in the tiny little voice. She is fairly petite and already an adult, so she should always be a little girl. Can you give this girl a secure loving home? Miss Charlotte, girl, born appoximately 2009

Katrina was rescued from a mobile home park where her owners banished her to outside because they no longer wanted her. She is SUPER petite and affectionate. She is not crazy about other cats or dogs for that matter. However, we believe that she would tolerate another cat or dog, but probably wouldnt become best friends with them. Wont you give this little girl a family that she knows will be ther furever for her? Katrina, girl, born approx 2009

Geraldine is a girl that knows what she wants and is not afraid to tell you. She is not a fan of other cats, we think it might be that she came from a trailer park with a huge feral cat population and maybe she didnt fair so well with them. Whatever the reason, Geraldine requests a home where she can be queen, get all the attention available and not have to look over her shoulder fearing a cat coming in for a sneak attack. She had to have one of her eyes removed because of a old injury ......but it doesnt diminish her beauty! Geraldine, girl, born approx 2005

Check out this handsome fella! This boy was born in 2005 and was adopted out as a baby. He has now found himself back in the shelter and is having quite some anxiety here which is causing him to bite. We so want to find him a home that will understand the anxiety and give him a chance. He has been around children and gets along with other cats, however, he does play hard. He has a strong play drive and just wants to play 24/7 but right now, because he cant do that in a cage, his anxiety level is growing. Wont you give this big boy a chance? Tiggy is a senior that was adopted out from us as a kitten 10 years ago, he was recently returned to us. We dont understand why, but we know it cant be this kitty's fault. What a magnificent kitty this is. He is super affectionate, loves every minute you will give him, he just soaks it up. We feel really bad for Tiggy being in a shelter for his senior years and sure hope that a wonderful caring soul will reach out to Tiggy and make his dreams come true. He truly doesnt ask for much, but love and he returns it 10 fold! Wont you give this senior boy the security and love he craves? Tiggy, boy, born approx 2000

How adorable is this guy?! So cute! He is so entertaining and loveable. He was a bottle fed baby, so he really thinks humans are the best thing ever. He gets along great with other cats and we are sure he would do well with kids. He plays with anything that moves and is great at putting on a show for all that would like to watch. He would really like to have a family of his own, could you give this adorable guy a family? Sheldon, boy, born approx 10/09

Orange Marmalade showed up in a back yard of someone that was highly allergic to cats. Every night this poor baby would end up in fights with raccoons and o'possums for food. To top it all off, this little girl has no front claws! Hardly a way to survive outdoors when you are missing your first line of defense. She is a gentle spirit that would love to be a couch potato with you. She does talk alot when forced to do something she doesnt like, for instance, ride in a car but otherwise she is a quiet companion. Orange Marmalade, girl, born approx. 2006

Dove was rescued as a tiny kitten in horrible shape but with TLC and lots of love, she regained her health and went out to a home. She was recently returned because her family moved. She is timid of people but just for a tiny bit because she loves affection so much that she cannot hold out. She would definitely not be a social butterfly but would love to be a companion to someone with a more quiet household, no children under 10 please. Wont you give this gorgeous beauty the security and love she craves? Dove, girl, born approx 2007.

Lizzie survived a house fire that took the lives of many of her feline friends. She had pretty bad smoke inhalation and the first night after the fire was scary, but she pulled through and is in good health. She was adopted out but the family brought her back because she had chewed on some electronic cords. We are not sure why this happened and think maybe she was bored. She is a super sweet girl and talks alot but very softly. She appears to get along great with other cats and dogs. Lizzie, girl, born approx 7/09

Pink is a real love bug that found herself scouring for food during the last few months. She is now obscessed with canned food, afraid she may never get anymore, so we would really love to find her a family that would still allow her to have that treat once a day. She is fairly quiet here at the shelter, but it might be just because she is catching up on some much needed rest. She gets growly when she sees other cats but that probably will pass, you know, cats never like another cat instantly. Pink, girl, born approx 2008

If you can believe this, this delicate girl of 4.10 oz was doing her best to care for 11 kittens! Apparently the mother of 1/2 of that crew had been abandoned and it was up to Wren to care for them. She tried so hard and her poor belly was marred and infected from the babies all trying to eat. We bottle fed her babies and gave her a break. She gained 1 lb in a week after us rescuing her, bless her heart! She is very peitite and LOVES to play, heck, she is barely more then a kitten herself. She is not shy and very social with everyone. Wont you give this little flower a home of her own? Wren, girl, born approx 2009

Priscilla is a 4-legged victim of foreclosures. Her family lost their home and instead of trying to find a place for her, they simply left her behind. She is very frightened in the shelter but when you have her alone in a room, she snuggles and cuddles and relaxes, so she would need a quiet home with a loving family, no children under 5. Priss III, girl, born approx 2005.

Chance came to us barely alive, he was just a skeleton with fur. You could see in his eyes that he had given up. We believe that he was just a short time from death. He didnt really have the strength to eat dry food and barely nibble on canned. So we hand fed him until he began to eat on his own and each day we watched him get stronger and stronger and the will to live return. He is wonderfully affectionate when he learns to trust a person; when the shelter closes at night and things are quiet, he will approach whoever is still hanging around and climb right into the first available lap; he is unbelievably sweet, and he's never aggressive with the other cats. Chance, boy, born approx 08/08. We hope you will give him a "chance". Chance, boy, born approx 08/08.

This adorable boy was picked up by Animal Control and given his "date of death". Luckily, we were able to get this boy a stay of execution at our shelter. He is so gorgeous! He came in all gray and dirty, scrapes on his nose and looking quite bewildered, but he cleans up great and now he is waiting for his family to "choose" him. It's hard to tell in this picture, but he has one blue and one gold eye, wow, so handsome! He loves to talk and give affection. He hopes his family comes soon, and so do we! Montero was quite a mess when he came into the shelter. He was so thin and big patches of hair were missing over his entire body. His trapper thought he was literally on his last days. However, when he visited the vet upon rescue to our shelter, it was found that he was hyperthyroid, which is fairly common in cats. We got him fixed up and he is now ready for adoption, although, he has not had time yet to look as gorgeous as we know he will be. His hair is still growing back, but he has definitely gained the weight he needed. He appears to be ok with other cats. Montero, boy, born approx 2005.

Such a silly look this adorable guy has! If you look close in the picture, you can see his lower canine tooth sticking out above his upper lip. It just makes him so darned cute. He is a bit apprehensive of strangers but it only takes him a few seconds before he decides he would rather approach then miss out on some affection. Myron and his brother Byron had a rough start in life but we are making that up to them now. They are both so full of character and just make you laugh. What a great stress reliever they are and such good company! Myron, boy, born approx. 2008

Is this girl ate up with gorgeous or what? Jules came to our program with 4 babies in tow. She was quite defensive with her babies, she was such a good mother! Since her babies have all gone to their homes, Jules is now very friendly and affectionate. She is not that crazy about other cats, but come on now, she IS an Aby, so what do you expect? She is quite animated and a bit bossy sometimes, but such a wondeful character she is! Jules, girl, Abyssinian, born approx. 2008

O'Donnell, appropriately named wince he came to us on St Patty's day 2010 with a realy ugly wound on his head. It had to be stitched up and it makes his right eye even more "cat-like". He hasnt had a very easy life until now. You can see in his eyes, his road has not been easy. He is super talkative and just rolls on his belly when you give him affection. This petite little Maine Coon mix girl is simply adorable, You just cant help but want to cuddle her. She gave birth to a litter of 5 kittens right after arriving in a Animal Control shelter. Babies just dont survive that kind of atmosphere as tiny things. We were able to pull her and her kittens from the shelter and get them into a foster home where they all thrived. Sunshine is tiny and barely more then a kitten herself but she gave all she had to mothering her little ones. All of her babies that she cared so well for, have gone on to their own families. Sunshine deserves her own family after going through such hard times giving birth to her own. Can you give her that? Sunshine, girl, born approx. 2009

Ok, no matter how good your camera is, Torti's are so hard to photograph. This little doll looks angry in this picture, but she is quite the opposite. Her mom passed away recently and she ended up in the shelter. She is very soft and affectionate. She has a silly thing she does when she is talking to you, which is often. She still keeps her mouth a bit open, she doesnt have much of a voice, but its the effort that counts. She would love to go home again and settle in, she has had a tough time losing her mom. Weeble is a little girl, she is rather petite in size although she is a little plump. She is very affectionate and loves to play. Her brother Wooble has cerebella hyperplasia, which is like cerebral palsy, but she was delivered untouched :-) Of course the purrfect situation for her would be to be adopted by a family that would adopt both Weeble and Wooble, but if not, Weeble should do well in a home with other cats, as it appears that she really appreciates their company :-) Weeble, girl, born approx 2008

Is this an adorable face or what? And she is just as adorable in "purson". She is very sweet and affectionate! This poor girl was dumped with 5 older kittens at someone's farm home. She still has lots of kitten in her when she gets going with toys. Such a shame that she was dumped with her babies to fend for herself! She is a confident kitty She is a confident kitty who would prefer to be your only cat. She would probably do well with children as she is not too rattled with strange noises and lots of action! Poor little Bettye, she was rescued as a bit older kitten and just hasnt quite gotten how to interact well with 2 legged humans. She LOVES attention and affection and loves to give it also. However, like when 2 cats groom each other, they do some biting and she feels the need to do that with people. We are working with her and she is trying, however, if love bites are not something that you tolerate, probably should look on. But if you would like a sweet baby with lots of love to give, little Bettye has it. She gets along great with other cats, but is sometimes intimidated by the more "assertive" ones, but she is never aggressive with other cats. In her previous home, she was around dogs, so she would probably do very well in a home with cat friendly dogs. Bettye, girl, born approx. 2007

She was adopted out and returned because she didn't want to be friends with the family dog. This gorgeous Maine Coon girl Tilly is quite a prissy little thing. She knows she is drop dead gorgeous. She was brought in by a Good Samaritan, however, they didn't realize that she was nursing kittens, so many volunteers set out to find the babies but they were no where to be found. We like to believe that they were rescued. Its clear that Tilly has been on her own, she is quite independent, although likes affection, its always at her own pace. ZigZag's 2008 didn't start off well, his owner passed away the day after Christmas 2007 and ZigZag and his feline siblings were out on the street. By the way, he got his name because when his guardian rescued him, he had a zig zag open wound on his head. The veterinarian thought that he had been up under a car trying to keep warm and someone started the engine, luckily he survived. Zig Zag is a senior Manx that is not that crazy about other cats, but if they dont bug him, he is not an aggressor. Hi, I am Violet…you know like the flower. I tolerate canines, humans and love moonlit nights with bugs near the window. I am funny, energetic and very outgoing. I love to lie in awkward positions, especially on my back and in what many humans call a spread eagle position. In addition, I am a little on the hefty side, but I prefer the word fluffy when discussing my weight. Foster mom says she love to hold me because it is like holding a human baby. But, enough of that; I am very strong willed and do not take no for an answer. I have been known to follow my furless (human) roommates around until they produced the goods I wanted….love and affection! Therefore, this just gives you a taste of my true identity; but, I have one downfall. Like my siblings, I get a little upset when I visit the animal shelter on the weekends. This is because I see and smell other felines which make me nervous and upset. So, if you are interested, foster mom does not mind if you visit me or if I have friends over. This is so we can truly get a feel for one another and if we would be good compatible forever roomies. Violet, female, born approx 4/06.

I am the only boy in a litter of girls, and although that’s a lot of estrogen….I can hold my own! I am definitely a dominant boy; however, I am a cuddle bug and love a good massage. I even ask for it by meowing. How many critters or even humans are that direct?? In addition, I am not all about talking and taking. I love to give my siblings baths and take a nap with them in the sun. Therefore, I am in touch with my feminine side but still remain a manly man! However, like my sisters (Violet, Pansy and Daffodil), I don’t put on a good show when foster mom takes me to the shelter on weekends for the sole purpose of showing that I am available bachelor. To help combat my one “hang up” or issue, you are more than welcome to arrange a visit to my foster home. This should help to determine if I am the right man for you! Pansy, girl, born approx 7/06. I live in a foster home with my siblings, a dog and a family of the human kind. Anyway, I have been there since I was a wee baby and I love my digs. However, due to this level of comfort, I get upset, growl and hit at my furry brother and sister when foster hom takes me to the shelter on weekends....she does this so potential forever families can meet me. since that place does not bring out the best in me, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am 6 inches from the ground, gray and white, short haired and love a cozy place to take a nap. I can be shy and quiet or will hide if you make me mad; but, at other times I am a lap kitty and will not let you get away without a snuggle or a stoke on my ears. Theefore, you'd better be good with your hands! I dont readily like the canine species; but, if you give me a little time I can adjust and live harmoniously....I have finally accepted my obnoxious Border Collie foster cousin! In addition, I would do well if I was adopted with one of my sibling; but, I am unsure if I could stand another "feline fur ball" that I dont know. Putting me in this situation may be asking a little much. Let me know if I spark your fanc; and, if so, other arrangements can be made so that you can see me at my best or within my comfort zone.

Virgo came from the ghetto.....an area of the city with literally hundreds of stray cats just multiplying uncontrollably...no one cared. She made her way into the home of a single mother with her observing......suddenly the single mother heard faint cries from her bedroom closet and found Virgo there with a newborn litter of kittens. Unable to financially care for her, she asked HELP to take her and her litter. She is learning not to gulp her food, we keep reassuring her that her bowl will always get filled but she is not quite convinced yet but trying. Such a sweet little girl this is, however, she can be a little apprehensive with people. The way to win her over is to offer people food. Poor Caviar came from a bad situation where the people didnt have enough money to care for all their cats, so the cats had to scavenge for food, we believe that they were fed leftover table scraps because she is obsessed with people food. So, if this is something that would bother you, best to not choose this girl. With understanding and reassurance, she will understand that she doesnt need to scavenge anymore.......Caviar, girl, born approx 5/06.

Raejean is a timid girl with a ugly past. We think she deserves better, dont you? She was kept in a home with a family that refused to get veterinary care for thier animals and the cats multiplied to an huge number. When they saw that Raejean and her sister Karla were about to deliver kittens again, they dumped all 12 into our shelter. Raejean is just not sure how to trust but given quiet reassurance, she warms up. We still think she deserves to have a family that will give her that. No children under 10. Raejean, girl, born approx 2005

Oasis fits his name well, he is very exotic looking and you cant help but be drawn to him. He is very affectionate and loving. He is good with other cats but sometimes gets bullied by very dominant kitties. He is on a special food but it doesnt cost a whole lot more then regular food. Its a diet that is bland and high in fiber......he didnt have a good life before he ended up with us so his tummy tolerates the special diet better then regular. Oasis, boy, born approx 2005

Chevy got his name because he purred like a Chevy engine. We had no idea that he was purring to calm himself as he was so terrified in the shelter. We all love him dearly and praise him for being such a brave boy. We are not sure that anyone would give Chevy a chance because of how scared he is of people, but he would make a great companion kitty for someone who is too busy to give a whole lot more to a new kitty but would like a friend for their own kitty. Chevy, boy, born approx 2004

Tresselle is a gorgeous Torby girl. She is full of sprit and zest for life. She is great with other cats, however, she does play rough, so she needs a kitty friend that would appreciate that and not be scared. If you try to stop petting her, she will grab your arm with her paw and give you a love bite......best way to handle that, dont stop petting her! Tresselle, girl, born approximately 2005

Jodie came from a bad situation where they had way too many kitties to properly care for. When she entered the shelter, she had 2 young kittens and we could barely tell who the mother was! Such a baby herself. She is timid at first so no children under 12 please. Jodie has had a rough time and needs a good stable family that will give her the love and attention she so deserves. Jodie, girl, born approx 2005

Sonia has not had an easy life, she was born at the Home Depot about 2 yrs ago and has been having kittens every few months since then. The employees thought they were helping by just giving away her kittens but not getting her spayed. This made a rough life for her. She is now spayed and will never have to worry about babies again. She really loves attention and food :-) She would do best in a home without children under 10 years old. She is a blue creme torti wih gorgeous copper eyes who longs to have a safe indoor forever home...... Sonia, girl, born 2003

Is he just THE most handsome boy?! Tundra is a VERY affectionate boy that would love to have a lap to lounge on. He just lives for attention from people. Although on first approach, he is sometimes apprehensive if he doesn't know you, but it only take a couple seconds for him to get over that if it means he gets some affection. Tundra is very picky about his felines friends, he gets along great with some, but not so much with others. He sometimes has a tendencies to "claim his territory" when there are lots of other cats, like the shelter. Tundra, boy, born approximately 8/05

Clover is a gorgeous black and white cat with mittens on her front paws and stockings in the back. She is shy when she first meets people, but is affectionate once she gets to know you. She loves being petted, and will lie on your lap all day if you let her. Though Clover does like her own space at times, if she sees you paying attention to another cat, she will immediately come over and cut in. Clover gets along fine with dogs, and loves being with other cats to the point of need. She would do best if adopted with her sister, Josie. Clover, girl, born 2004.

Josie (Jo) is the family jokester. She is very energetic and absolutely loves playing with her favorite toy. She knows where it is kept and will not hesitate to ask you to get it out and play with her. Jo also likes decent places to perch – especially those provided by people’s backs. If she sees you lean over, she will immediately jump on top of your back. Depending on how long you let her stay there, she will sit or even lie down and enjoy the view. During quiet evenings Jo may choose to lie down next to you on the couch and simply enjoy your company. She loves playing with other cats and gets along well with dogs. Jo would be happiest if she were adopted with her sister, Clover. Josie, girl, born 2004.

Jasmine was released to HELP because her mommy had to go into a nursing home. Jasmine is a declawed Manx and has never lived in a home with other cats. She is a lap cat and is too sophisticated to be interested in toys. She loves to just watch for entertainment. She has a cute little bobtail, she wags it when she is happy and when she is watching something of interest. The other thing she loves to do is talk. Her foster parents think she sounds a little bit like a lamb baaing. When she runs and jumps she hops like a rabbit. Foster dad keeps telling her she is confused about what kind of animal she is! Jasmine is in a foster home with 4 other cats and this just doesn't make her happy. All her life she thought she was the ONLY cat in the world and now she just can't believe how wrong she has been. Even though Jasmine is 10 years old her life is far from over. Her foster parents think if she could say for herself what type of home she would like she would say "One where they let me sleep on their laps. One where I am the ONLY cat and can be the Princess. I am not sure about kids, but as long as they leave me alone until I decide I like them that would be okay. Also, I have never been around dogs so I think that might be too scary for me. I don't require much but a full bowl of food, a pillow or person to sleep on and someone who will talk to me." Jasmine, girl, born 1995

My name is Karma and I am a female born approx 3/04. My siblings and I (see Clover/Jo/Kizmet on this page) had a real rough start in life. Our mom had us and we didnt get any attention from humans so we were scared of them. Someone got our whole family into a box, taped it shut and then dumped us behind a vet clinic. Mom and us were so terrified at the vet clinic and mom didnt make it out. Then just a short time after getting into our foster home, Kizmet and I got a horrible case of ringworm. Our sister Tao got a wonderful home and all of us want one too. We are a little shy but we warm up quickly. Foster mom calls me a spaz because I love when she comes to pet me and I love to get a good petting while I dance around. We just need a special person to give us the chance we deserve and we will reward you will love and gratitude.

Hi! I'm a single guy with an attitude and I'm looking for a like-minded room mate. I'm a very handsome boy and have a white heart in the middle of my back. I would not be a good pet for someone with small children or even middle size children as I'm a little unpredictable and when I get stressed or scared I sometimes don't behave well and might scratch or, heaven forbid, even bite one of them. I don't like other cats and would like to be an "only". When my foster mom first started taking care of me I was very scared and would scratch and try to bite her all the time....that was quite a while ago and I'm doing great now. When she pats her check I jump up to be held and cuddled. She also feeds me yum-yums's (treats) that I take from her hand like a gentleman. I like it best when she holds me and carries me around although sitting on laps is ok too. I don't come up to the adoption center to visit as all those cats really stresses me out. Are you the right person for a special boy like me?
